The Museum of National Liberation Maribor was founded in 1958 and is located in an old city villa. The mission of the museum is primarily to connect the archaeology, the ethnology, and the broader cultural history of the Maribor region in one place. The permanent exhibition offers insight into the history of Maribor in the 20th century. The collection contains different items, such as weapons, postcards, photos, furniture, artworks, watches, musical instruments, and more.
An important part of the museum’s work is its teaching role: traditional exhibition tours, creative workshops, nights at the museum, and preparation for finals are only a part of their rich programme for children.
